During my graduate work, I had the opportunity to work in a variety of clinical settings such as community mental health centers, partial hospitalization programs, forensic clinics, and a behavioral medicine practice.  My interest in testing was solidified during my postdoctoral fellowship, where I had the unique opportunity to provide both therapy and psychological assessments.

After completing graduate school, I joined a private practice in the Washington, DC area, offering comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations to school-aged children, college students, and adults. This experience was invaluable when I relocated to the Minneapolis area, initially joining an organization dedicated to educating students with attention and learning differences and ultimately co-founding Monarch.  Every step of my journey has deepened my dedication to helping individuals recognize their strengths and differences, and to finding the tools and supports that will help them thrive.

My love for psychological assessment stems from early training in the neuropsychological evaluation of brain injuries. After graduate school, I specialized in the provision of therapy and assessment to college students with a variety of mental health, attention, and learning concerns. Serving as a source of healing was a privilege, but the assessment world was beckoning. I returned to the field as a diagnostician at Groves Academy, where I was fortunate to refine my skills in the assessment of neurodiverse learners before cofounding Monarch.

My evaluation approach is relational and collaborative. I love investigating data, connecting with and fostering lightbulb moments for clients, and identifying pathways to success.

My training experience during undergraduate and graduate school primarily focused on treating children and adolescents. I gained experience in outpatient mental health clinics in urban settings, offering individual therapy and psychological assessment.

Prior to co-founding Monarch Learning & Attention Center, I worked at a learning assessment center for almost 2 years and an outpatient mental health clinic, for almost 10 years, both in Minneapolis. In these settings, I provided comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations, psychological evaluations, and autism spectrum disorder evaluations to children, adolescents, and adults. I enjoy partnering with families to help answer their questions and offer options for support.

I love the opportunity to provide families with a compassionate and collaborative intake experience. I have a deep and genuine appreciation for neurodiverse brains. As a parent of a child with ADHD and a child with Dyslexia, I have first-hand knowledge of the experiences that parents face navigating mental health as well as the school system.
